90210 Recap: Annie’s ‘Author X’ Reveal Wreaks Havoc On Her Family

Annie’s decision to kiss and tell — OK, more like ‘have sex for money and tell’ — bred serious consequences for her brother. But which one?

The April 22 episode of 90210 picked up right where last week’s left off, with Annie’s (Shenae Grimes) former sugar daddy Patrick hand-delivering a package of judgment right to her front door. What transpired was the typical warm-and-fuzzy exchange you might expect between a former escort and her one-time John: ‘If you go public with our story, I’ll kill your brother.’ (OK, there’s a slight chance I paraphrased Patrick on that one, but it was pretty close.)

Dixon’s (Tristan Wilds) safety be damned, Little Escort Annie hopped a plane to New York City — with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Mark in tow, of course — to reveal herself on national TV. But unbeknownst to Annie, her brother paid Patrick a little house call and told him to take his best shot. Honestly, I forgot that Dixon’s kind of a bad ass; he did survive being hit head-on by a flat-bed truck, after all.

Annie’s very own Mr. Big confronted her in the lobby of her hotel the next day — seriously, where does this guy live and how is he everywhere?! — to let her know her troubles have only just begun. And he was right, as the episode ended with the fuzz arriving at Mark’s restaurant to arrest him… for drug possession!

Jordan’s Mom Vs. Naomi Vs. Herself

Naomi’s trip to the Big Apple doubled as an opportunity to impress Jordan’s mom, but like literally every single one of Naomi’s schemes over the past five seasons, this one fell flat immediately. Though Mark impressed her by raising $20,000 at the charity auction — he basically promised to be a cooking escort, which I’m sure Annie appreciated — she was not impressed by Naomi’s criminal record. Oh, wait, make that records.

In the end, Naomi delivered a big ‘I’m good enough the way I am’ speech and stormed out of the auction. And while Jordan’s mom didn’t exactly run after her, Jordan sure did.

Adrianna & Navid Face Their Future — And Their Past

Back in Beverly Hills, Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) and Navid (Michael Steger Jr.) found themselves doing the walk of shame down memory lane, following last week’s one-night stand.

In an attempt to shake off her man troubles, Ade helped Michaela pound out a new jam — but things went south when Michaela revealed she’s still crushing on Navid, herself.

Though the couple decided it’s ultimately best for them to leave their relationship in the past, something tells me Crazy-Pants Adrianna won’t rest until she gets her claws back in him. (And by “something tells me,” I mean I saw them doing it again in the previews.)

Liam Will Literally Never Learn Ever

While all of the above was going on, business-savvy Liam (Matt Lanter) went to great lengths to secure a teen surfer named Cassie as the new face of his and Navid’s company — and managed to be a total hypocrite in the process. In order to get Cassie on board, pun intended, Liam kissed her in front of her ex-boyfriend to make him jealous. So, basically, he allowed Cassie to use him mere days after complaining that he’s tired of being used by all the women in his life.

Oh, Liam, you’re so lucky you’re pretty.

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of this week’s developments? Is Patrick really done getting revenge on Annie? Are you glad Navid and Adrianna are hooking up again? Drop a comment with your predictions for the final three episodes! Ever!

Plus, the cast & crew will look back on the series’ five-season run with a one-hour special airing before the final episode!

The final episode of 90210 is less than three weeks away, and The CW has finally released the official description of the episode. Along with the arrival of Prince Michael Jackson and the Goo Goo Dolls — I literally can’t imagine a more random pairing — the characters will “come together again after a traumatic event that makes them realize the importance of their relationships.”

A series of on-set photos reveal the “traumatic event” is a fire during one of Adrianna’s (Jessica Lowndes) concert. Both Ade and Navid (Michael Steger Jr.) look pretty badly burned in the photos, while Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Jordan look positively panicked.

Who Gets Engaged On The 90210 Series Finale?

Thanks to a super-nosey photographer, we know that two characters (finally!) become engaged during the show’s final hour.

Highlight to find out who’s getting hitched: Annie and Liam!

Shenae Grimes & AnnaLynne McCord Disappointed With Ending

Considering the writers had very little time to turn the season finale into a series finaleCharlie Weber — who plays Annie and Naomi’s half-brother, Mark — told HollywoodLife.com, “I don’t think the writers could have done better, given the time frame they had to wrap it up.”

But while the writers may have done the best they could under such short notice, not everyone in the cast is pleased with their characters’ individual conclusions.

AnnaLynne was the first to voice her displeasure with the series finale, telling Life & Style that she plans to upload her own ending to YouTube after the episode airs.

“They rewrote the ending and I liked the original so I filmed my own ending,” she told the mag. “[It'll be] a surprise for the fans.”

And while responding to a fan’s tweet April 23, Shenae Grimes referred to the finale as “unfinished end to a long run for all characters. Shame really but our writers r very talented people, not their fault.”

90210 Recap: Liam’s Big Surprise Leaves Annie Devastated

$

Is there no hope for Liam & Annie? With the ’90210′ series finale fast approaching, ‘Lannie’ is now facing its biggest obstacle yet.

I’m really starting to get worried. There are only two more episodes left on 90210, and after watching the April 29 episode, I’m not convinced that any of these kids will be able to pull their lives together before the final curtain drops.

Annie (Shenae Grimes) hired a foxy lawyer to get Mark (Charlie Weber) out of jail, but things got a little complicated when secrets from Mark’s past came out — like that he was already on probation for drug-trafficking charges. And that he has two 11-year-old children who happened to be expecting a joint birthday party.

Jordan (Robbie Jones) was able to get Mark off the hook — at least as far as his legal troubles are concerned — but it required his mom’s help, so now she pretty much owns him. Back to New York he goes!

And despite Naomi’s (AnnaLynne McCord) best efforts to keep Mark’s kids from finding out their dad was behind bars, Liam (Matt Lanter) did what he thought was “right” and brought them to see him in jail. For someone who looks like a Disney prince, Liam is very bad at saving the day.

Liam’s Big Surprise

And to make matters even worse, Liam dropped a huge bombshell on Annie at the end of the episode: He’s moving to Australia! With Sydney!

Yes, Campbell’s slutty step-mom has once again sunk her claws into the Corporate Invaders star, convincing him to “push the rest button” on their relationship.

Personally, I’d like to push the rewind button to before Liam and Sydney ever met. She’s irrelevant she’s annoying and she needs to GTFO. Like, yesterday.

Adrianna Is A Life-Ruiner

Fact: Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) needs to keep her legs closed. Like, forever. Anytime she has sex with anyone, someone else ends up getting hurt — like Michaela, who walked in on Ade getting nasty with Navid (Michael Steger Jr.) this week. And in Silver’s (Jessica Stroup) bed, no less!

Silver threatened to send Michaela back to Washington, D.C., so she skipped town and left a goodbye note for Dixon (Tristan Wilds).

It sucks that she has Silver’s baby inside her, but honestly, will anyone miss her? Anybody?

HollywoodLifers, what’s your review of this week’s episode? Do you think Liam will really move to Australia? Are you glad Navid and Adrianna are back together? Drop a comment with your thoughts!

Plus, Silver suffers a surprise tragedy, setting the stage for the saddest series finale ever.

We’ve seen Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) pull some pretty sick shenanigans during the past five seasons — she’s basically Satan with boobs — but on the May 6 episode of 90210, karma finally came back to bite her. And by “bite her,” I mean “rain down fire directly onto her head.”

Ade sang ‘her’ contest-winning song after Fall Out Boy at a big fancy venue, and her performance brought the house down — literally. The lights exploded, kids were screaming; it was Carrie up in there. So is Ade, like, dead? For now, let’s just focus on the three super-insane acts that delivered Adrianna into her karma fire:

1. “All Silver cares about is that baby.” That’s a direct quote.

2. She recorded a 16 & Pregnant marathon for Navid (Michael Steger Jr.) because she thought it would be “nostalgic.”

3. When she thought Michaela died, she was visibly relieved, just so she wouldn’t have to tell anyone she was sleeping with Navid again.

So yeah, Adrianna got lit on fire. It sucks, but she had to have expected this to happen eventually.

Silver’s Horrible Life Becomes Even Worse

Meanwhile, Silver (Jessica Stroup) somehow had an even worse day than Ade — who, I repeat, was literally lit on fire. With Michaela on the lam, Teddy (Trevor Donovan) came back to Beverly Hills just to be a total dick to Silver. He would say brash things like, “Stop blaming your problems on other people,” and such!

And when Silver finally located her human-uterus, in a bar no less, Michaela revealed that she had a miscarriage! The episode suddenly became super-heavy, and if that wasn’t devastating enough, Silver had to return to the hospital after her doctor expressed new concerns.

So far, zero characters seem to be getting happy endings — and with only one episode left, I’m starting to wonder if things will turn around for everybody. Or anybody.

Annie & Liam Continue To Deny The Obvious

Speaking of closure, Annie (Shenae Grimes) and Liam (Matt Lanter) are about to put a whole lot of distance between them — not that either of them leaving the country makes any damn sense. Liam is moving to Australia with Sydney, who sucks; and Annie is escaping to Paris because she, like, can’t deal with all the drama, you know?

Annie may be many things — a hit-and-run murderer, a prostitute, a best-selling erotic novelist, etc. — but being lucky in love is nowhere on that list. She and Liam even came across the engagement ring he gave her last season, yet they still couldn’t man up about their feelings.

I do predict good things for “Leo and Annabelle” next week, though. And that’s not just a hunch.

Naomi Makes A Deal With The Devil

…Or did the Devil make a deal with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord)? Either way, she took the fall for Elizabeth (Keke Palmer), who accidentally let this random Japanese party prince overdose on pills. So by standing in as the “mystery woman,” Naomi repaid her debt to the Evil Judge Cheryl, thus freeing Jordan (Robbie Jones) from her treacherous no-dating policy.

It felt like Naomi was playing Scandal, and it was fun.

90210 Finale: Lannie’s ‘Happy Ending’& The Time Jump We’ll Never See

Matt Lanter gives HollywoodLife.com a preview of the ’90210′ series finale & teases what would have happened in season six.

After five seasons, two haircuts, and countless forgettable love interests, Liam Court — and the rest of his 90210 pals — will say goodbye during a two-hour event May 13. But even with the end in sight, Matt Lanter tells HollywoodLife.com there are still plenty of surprises to come. And even more we’ll never see.

What We Will See: ‘Lannie’ Fans ‘Will Be Happy’

Matt urges “anyone who’s been a fan of Liam’s romances, especially the Annie saga,” to tune into the final episode. “We end on a good note,” he says. “I’m happy with Liam’s ending, and I think most of the fans will be happy. … There might be a happy ending, a big pay-off for all the strife [Liam has] been put through.”

But while fans cross their fingers for Liam and Annie to reunite, Matt says the whole concept of ‘Lannie’ is basically lost on him and Shenae Grimes.

“Shenae and I are like brother and sister,” he explains. “It’s funny, we don’t feel like we have chemistry, but everybody loves Liam and Annie. We get a laugh out of it.”

Though Matt admits the overall finale feels “a little abrupt,” that’s only because the writers had a short time to turn the episode around after learning the show had been canceled. The original ending for season five looked very different before that.

What We Won’t See: The Five-Year Time Jump

The episode we’ll all see May 13 is not the way season five was supposed to end. Matt tells me the original finale “was a completely different episode,” one that would have set an interesting stage for a potentially shortened sixth season:

It was a cool episode where we actually aged our characters five years, and by act six of the finale, everybody was five years older. Liam was just getting out of jail for the bombing — in this version, I guess he was responsible for it — and Naomi was somewhere across the world. We all wanted to do it because we were hoping we’d get half a season next year and get to be with these characters five years in the future. We’d done the table read and everything. As a matter of fact, I think we even started shooting some of that stuff. But as soon as we got the news, we had to shift dramatically. It was a crazy couple of weeks.

Personally, I would have loved a five-year jump, if for no other than reason than to bypass the rest of the unnecessary college years.

“Liam was always at the college, but he was never in college,” Matt realizes. “There are a lot of things on 90210 you learn not to question.”

Life After ’90210′: Matt Lanter’s Next Move

90210 may be ending, but fortunately, Matt’s not going anywhere. No, seriously, he’s staying on The CW! The network announced May 9 that it’s picking up Matt’s new series Star-Crossed, in which he plans smolder-y alien Roman, and he tells us to expect an “epic” romance with Aimee Teegarden‘s human character, Emery. (Read more about Star-Crossed here.)

90210 Series Finale: A Fan-Favorite Couple Finally Gets Its Happy Ending

$

Yes, the final episode of ’90210′ brought some much-needed closure for our favorite Beverly Hills residents — though one character wasn’t quite as lucky as the others.

Last week, Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) being crushed on stage by a barrage of flaming rubble seemed like a bad thing, but as we saw on the May 13 series finale — yes, I said series finale, and I can’t type those words without ugly crying — her accident turned out to be a good thing. Aside from a few bumps and bruises, the near-death tragedy brought everyone back together one last time!

Fearing for his one true love or whatever, Liam (Matt Lanter) canceled his trip to Australia to check up on Annie (Shenae Grimes), while Navid (Michael Steger Jr.) got a chance to play hero with Ade. Seriously, am I the only one surprised that zero rescue workers thought to check on the girl who was ON STAGE when the entire freakin’ structure collapsed?

No Silver Lining For Silver

Even Silver (Jessica Stroup) totes forgot about her potential cancer diagnosis, instead rushing make sure Adrianna — who has tried to kill Silver numerous times — was alive and well. Unfortunately, Silver’s cancer totes did not forget about her. The unluckiest girl in television history received a call from her doctor; and yes, she’s got it!

Real talk, though, I could not be more upset with the way Silver’s journey ended. After everything she’s been through — dealing with being bipolar, losing her surrogate baby, etc. — to have her end the series with cancer is just the worst. I understand the writers didn’t have enough time to wrap up every story line, but I would have preferred them to just cut all of her scenes and replace them with Whose Line Is It Anyway sketches. Like, anything other than her getting cancer.

The only teeny, tiny upside was that we got one last couple-y moment between Silver and Dixon (Tristan Wilds). I’ve been sailing the good ship #Sixon ever since season one, so I liked that they sort of almost ended up together. In a way.

UPDATE: 10 Reasons Why It Sucks To Be Erin Silver

Naomi & The Randoms

But amidst all the new drama, many things about the 90210 finale were exactly as they should have been: Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) used the tragedy to throw a relief concert to make herself look better, making way for two super-random guest stars: The Goo Goo Dolls and — wait for it – Prince Michael Jackson. She also ended up with her guy-of-the-moment, Jordan (Robbie Jones), who I’m sure would not have lasted through three episodes of season six.

#Lannie4Ever

Fortunately, the episode wasn’t a total downer. That step-skank Savannah convinced Liam to read the end of Undressed – Liam can read? – so he’d know Annie was the one for him. He hopped on his motorcycle and chased down Annie’s plane, a romantic gesture that ended in a dramatic proposal!

Yes, friends, after five seasons — and way too many unnecessary obstacles — Liam and Annie are finally engaged! All is now right in Beverly Hills, as everyone got the happy ending they deserved.

Except Silver. She still has cancer.

WATCH: AnnaLynne McCord Records Alternate Ending

Not satisfied with the way Naomi’s journey ended — it wasn’t bad, but it was pretty average — AnnaLynne McCord made good on her promise to upload an alternate “spoof” ending to YouTube. The video, which she made public after the west-coast airing of the finale, reunites Naomi with her ex-husband after a photo montage of their years together.

It’s obvious she put a lot of thought into this, so watch and enjoy:

90210 Series Finale: Silver Didn’t Deserve Her Tragic Ending

Silver faced her final — and most brutal — crisis on the show’s final episode. Worst ending ever?

It’s been less than 24 hours since 90210 aired its series finale, and while I’m tickled that Annie (Shenae Grimes) and Liam (Matt Lanter) finally got their heads out of their beautiful butts and became engaged, there’s one less-happy plot point in need of discussing: I can’t believe the show ended with Silver (Jessica Stroup) getting cancer!

No resolution, no silver lining. The girl just has cancer, and that’s it.

But then again, maybe it was the perfect way for Silver’s journey to end. I mean, hasn’t she been consistently dumped on from day one? I believe Silver might be the most unlucky character on television today, and like any good CW journalist, I gathered evidence.

So without further adieu, I present…

Why It Totally Sucks To Be Erin Silver — A Timeline Of Tragedies:

Silver’s crappy life actually started on the original Beverly Hills, 90210. During a season four episode “Thicker Than Water,” her half-brother David fell asleep — this was during his meth/oxy-addiction period, mind you — and lost her at the park.

Flash forward to high school. Silver eventually grew out of her awkward, anti-social phase… only to discover she’s, in fact, bipolar.

She finally reconnected with her estranged mother… who then died of breast cancer.

Losing her mom was tough, but at least Silver had her sister to lean on, right? … Nope. Kelly suddenly disappeared and was never heard from again.

Silver found comfort in the arms of her loving boyfriend, Teddy. Oh, wait… he’s gay.

Her “best friend” Adrianna tampered with her bipolar medication and tried to kill her.

Adrianna then sent a naked picture of Silver to everyone in school.

Thank God high school finally ended, so Silver could get a fresh start in college, right? … Nope. Silver did not get into college.

Flash forward a few more years: Silver put her only viable embryo into a surrogate… but the baby died.

And then Silver found out she has cancer.

The end.

90210 Recap: Annie Is Finally Exposed As ‘Author X’

$

Annie’s worst nightmare comes true, as she’s literally unmasked as the author of ‘Undressed!’ But how did Liam react?

90210 returned April 15 with the first of its final five episodes (ever!) and it proved to be a rough night for our girl Annie (Shenae Grimes). Because she refused to come out as “Author X,” Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) threw a special masquerade ball for her book launch — but before the night was over, Annie was forced to rip off her proverbial mask, revealing herself to be the little smut peddler we’ve all known her to be.

But prior Annie’s official outing, Naomi assumed Jordan’s (Robbie Jones) friend Elizabeth (Keke Palmer) was the undercover writer, going as far as to call her a “whore.” So you can imagine how awkward things got when Naomi realized that, not only is Elizabeth not “Author X,” but she’s actually Jordan’s sister!

Damage control needed. So much damage control.

And Naomi’s not the only one who figured out Annie’s secret. In a very uncharacteristic moment of intelligence, Liam (Matt Lanter) connected the dots and realized that “Leo” was actually him! And as if that wasn’t bad enough, a pissed-off Patrick showed up at Annie’s door, with a copy of Undressed in hand.

Like I said… so much damage control needed!

Dixon Falls In Love With Silver(‘s Uterus)

Since he’s got nothing else going on at the moment, Dixon (Tristan Wilds) was tasked with babysitting Michaela (Lyndon Smith), but it wasn’t long before business turned into pleasure. Over a romantic dinner of hot dogs and heartburn, Dixon confessed his love — and got totally shot down. It turns out Michaela only has eyes for that sweet Iranian prince Navid (Michael Steger Jr.).

Adrianna & Silver: Best Frenemies Forever

But while Dixon and Michaela’s spark was just starting to get fired up, Silver (Jessica Stroup) spent the hour extinguishing her flame with Mark (Charlie Weber). She didn’t feel comfortable — or safe, obviously — betraying Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes), so decided it’d be best if they kept their distance.

This didn’t sit too well with Mark, so he took matters into his own shirtless hands, forcing Adrianna to confront her “friend” about what’s really bugging her. But his little plan backfired, as Ade told Silver she can’t be her friend anymore.

The cherry on top of his hot-mess sundae, though, was Adrianna’s hasty decision to hook up with Navid out of spite. Like that will go over well…

Navid Is Screwed… And Not The Good Kind

On the non-romantic front, Liam moved forward with ‘Operation: Take Down Chronus,’ devising a plan so brilliant that Navid admitted he wanted to kiss him! (Oh, wait, did I say non-romantic? Scratch that.)

But Liam’s plan hit a wall when he learned that he may never get the proof he needs. In a nutshell, if Sydney helps Liam expose Campbell (Grant Gustin), then Campbell’s father will divorce her, preventing her from stealing Campbell’s inheritance — which was really her plan all along!

That’s right, kids, Liam is being used… again. I guess it’s true what they say: Being pretty is hard.
